Al-Hamdulillah, we completed Chapter 5 of Unit C, How To Pray Salat ul-Jama’ah. We learned how to pray Salat ul-Jamaah in the masjid, at home or in school.
We also discussed where/when/who should pray Salat ul-Jamaah. We learned, where one should stand, how to follow the Imam and what to do if you miss some rakaat.
We did role play activity on how to perform Salatul-Jamaah if the mamoon is: 1 male, 1 female, group of males and females.

Please complete Exercise 1 , 2 and 3 of Unit C Chapter 4 from Workbook.

Unit – C, Chapter Five, Hajj: How To Pray Salat ul-Jama’ah – Review Sheet

1. Salat ul-Jamaah is usually done in the masjid.
2. Muslims pray Jamaah in the masjid shortly after the prayer time begins and the Athan is called.
3. Muslims pray Salat ul-Jamaah in the masjid five timmes a day. However a muslim can pray Jamaah in school, at work, or at home , if he has a good reason for not being able to go to the masjid.
4. Women are excused from praying in the masjid, especially if they are busy at home.
5. Imam stands in the front and middle. The men line up behind the imam, boys line up behind the men, girls line up behind the boysand the women are behind them.
6. If there is a male Imam and one male Mamoom, the mamoom stands on the right side of the imam.
7. If there is a male imam and one female mamoomah, the mamoomah stands behind the imam.
8. If you come to the masjid late and find that you have missed one or more rakah, just walk calmly and join the salah. When the imam makes tasleem, do not make tasleem, stand up and pray the rakaat you missed.
9. If you enter the salah while the imam is in qiyam or even in rukoo, then that rakaah counts.
10. If you enter the salah after the rukoo, then you have missed the rakaah and you need to make it up.
11. Follow the imam in every move that he makes during the prayer.
12. When the Imam says Allahu-Akbar out loud, you should say it quietly to yourself.
13. When the imam reads the Quran loudly you listen to him. Only read Al-Fatihah and other surahs when the imam is silent.
14. Make the movements of salah after the imam does them.
15. Do not make unnecessary moves, like looking around, scratching your head, or bumping into the people around you.
