Al-Hamdulillah, we completed Chapter 1 of Unit E, Cleanliness and Purity: It’s My Nature.
We learned that Muslims must keep themselves and their surroundings clean. It is part of Islam. Half of our faith (Iman) is being clean and pure.
We learned about Nadhafah or Tahaarah and Najasah. We studied how to keep our body, clothes, surroundings, and earth clean. We also learned the Islamic Etiquette of using the bathroom.

Please complete Exercise 1 and 2 of Unit “E” Chapter 1 from Workbook.

Unit – E, Chapter 1, Cleanliness & Purity – Review Sheet

● The Arabic word for cleanliness is Nadhafah and is very important in Islam
● Nadhafah means to be free from dirt and bad smells
● Half of your faith (iman) is being clean and pure
● Taharah is purity and cleanliness
● The opposite of Tahara is impurity
● Najasah is human and animal waste
● If you touch Najasah or something impure you need to clean yourself
● The Dogs wet mouth is Najis. So if you played with a dog you have to clean yourself
● You have to take a shower before you go to the Friday prayer
● Angels dislike a person while his teeths smell bad. Brush your teeth.
● The prophet told us to keep our hair neat and clip your nails
● Read the following dua when you enter the bathroom and enter the bathroom with your left foot: “Aallahumma inni a’oothu bikka min al-khubti wal-khaba’ith” which means “ O Allah protect me from impurity and devils”.
● When using the Toilet you should be alone where no one can see you
● When you finish using the bathroom clean yourself with water
● Do not spend extra time in the bathroom, leave when you are done
● Say “Ghufranak” which mean “O Allah , I seek your forgiveness”, and exit the bathroom starting with your right foot
● Keep your clothes, home, school and masjid clean
● Do not litter on the road, park, or any public place
● The Prophet (PBU) said to remove litter or a harmful thing from road is a charity
