Al-Hamdulillah, we completed Chapter 3 of Unit C: Perfect your Prayer

We learned how to pray perfectly. We also discussed and learned the importance of Khushoo and praying always and on time.
We demonstrated how to pray two rak’ah in the class. Several students took part in this exercise. Jazak Allah Khairan.

Unit – C, Chapter 3 Perfect your Prayer Review Sheet Br. Soheb Khan

The steps for two rak’ah salah are as follows: (Note:- certain positions of salah for girls are different)
1. Make wudoo carefully. Lay out prayer rug in the direction of Qiblah.
2. Make Niyyah in the heart to pray. Raise hands up and say “AllahuAkbar”. Fold right hand over left and place them between naval and chest.
3. Say Duaa Al-Istiftah. After that say “Aoothu billahi mina-shaytan-ir-rajeem”.
4. Recite the Fatihah and a short surah in arabic.
5. Say “Allahu Akbar” and bow down by bending at the waist and placing hands at your knees. Say “Subhana rabbiyal atheem” three times.
6. Then say “Sami Allahu liman hamidah”. Return to the standing position with your arms at your sides. Say “Rabbana lakal hamd”.
7. Then say “Allahu Akbar” and kneel down on the floor to make sujood. Carefully place hands on the ground on either side of your head
and keep elbows up. Make sure that hands, knees and toes are on the ground. Make sure that nose and fore-head are touching the ground.
8. Say three times “Subhana rabbiyal ala”. Then say “Allah Akbar” and situp on the knees for a moment. Then say “Allahu Akbar” and make sujood again.
8. Say three times “Subhana rabbiyal ala” again. Then say “Allahu Akbar” and stand up for the second rak’ah. This completes one rak’ah.
9. During the second rak’ah repeat everything starting with the Fatihah.
10. When you sit up from sujood, remain seated and say at-tashahhud. Then raise right index finger and bear witness that there is no God
but Allah and remember that Allah is one.
11. Recite As-Salat ul-ibraheemiyyah then say a dua to Allah.
12. Then turn your face to the right and say “Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah” and then turn your face to the left
and say “Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah”.

Things To Remember:

1. Qiblah – direction of Al-Kabah in Makkah
2. Du’aa Al-Istiftah – the supplication of Beginning the prayer
3. Subhana rabbiyal atheem – glory be to my Great Lord
4. Sami Allahu liman hamidah – Allah hears those who praise him
5. Rabbana lakal hamd – Oh Lord, to you belongs all praise
6. Subhana rabbiyal ala – Glory be to my Lord most high
7. Assalamu Alaikum warah-matullah – Peace and blessings be upon you
8. Tasleem – concluding portion of salat, where we recites “Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah”once while facing the right and once while facing the left
9. Kushuoo – means that you feel humble and a strong love for Allah in your heart when you stand in front of Allah

Please memorize at-tashahhud and As-Salat ul-ibraheemiyyah.
Please practice steps of salah at home.
